Migrants? Not in OUR Back Yard

Ron DeSantis: Dumping Migrants in Florida is Unacceptable

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida’s governor plans to fight a federal plan to fly hundreds of immigrants from the Mexican border to two South Florida counties, saying Friday he’ll take his case to President Donald Trump.

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis made his remarks a day after being caught off guard when Broward and Palm Beach county officials said they were notified by U.S. Border Patrol that more than a 100 immigrants would be sent weekly to each of the counties starting in about two weeks.

“We cannot accommodate in Florida just dumping unlawful migrants into our state. I think it will tax our resources, the schools, the health care, law enforcement, state agencies,” DeSantis told reporters in Sarasota after a bill signing ceremony. Read more HERE.

UPDATE: Border Patrol Official: Migrants Won’t Be Sent to Florida ‘at this Time’ Following Blowback

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) official said late Friday that plans to send migrant families to South Florida have been put on hold temporarily following a backlash from state lawmakers.

The development came after Broward and Palm Beach county officials said they were notified by U.S. Border Patrol that more than a 100 immigrants would be sent weekly to each of the counties starting in the next two weeks. According to NPR, the official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the agency will not be “transporting any family units to Florida at this time,” but left the door open to “possibly housing and processing migrants at other U.S. Border Patrol sectors across the nation.” Read more HERE.

Sanctuary Cities Welcome Illegal Aliens with ‘Open Arms’ While 38K American Veterans Remain Homeless

by John Binder

Sanctuary cities across the United States are responding to President Donald Trump’s threat to bus border crossers and illegal aliens to their jurisdictions, saying they plan to welcome all illegal immigration with “open arms” despite soaring homelessness problems.

Last week, Trump threatened to bus border crossers and illegal aliens into sanctuary cities and states, like California and New York City, if the country’s asylum laws were not changed. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday confirmed that the White House is considering the plan.

“The USA has the absolute legal right to have apprehended illegal immigrants transferred to Sanctuary Cities,” Trump posted on Twitter over the weekend. “We hereby demand that they be taken care of at the highest level, especially by the State of California, which is well known or it’s poor management & high taxes!” Continue reading HERE.

Kris Kobach: Catch and Release Can Be Instantly Ended Without Congress

by John Binder

Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is detailing a plan for President Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that would instantly end the administration’s expanded Catch and Release policy.

As Breitbart News has chronicled, DHS has been releasing roughly 1,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the interior of the United States through the unofficial Catch and Release program. The process often entails federal immigration officials dropping illegal aliens off at bus stations, where they are then released from custody with the promise to return for their immigration hearings. The overwhelming majority of illegal aliens are never deported from the country once released into the interior.

During an interview on Fox News, Kobach explained how the policy can be instantly ended by the creation of more detention space:

One of the problems we have right now is because the system is so overloaded in terms of detention space … we’ve maxed out on the detention space we have. We have to think creatively and make additional space, because if we don’t then all these people who are claiming asylum — they suddenly make the claim and then they suddenly disappear into the fabric of the United States, never to be seen again. [Emphasis added]

My point was we should have processing centers either at U.S. military bases or other facilities where we bring in the thousands upon thousands of trailer homes that FEMA still has … let’s use them to solve this crisis so that we can keep people in comfortable living conditions but instead of just turning them loose and never to be seen again, let’s process their asylum claim quickly. [Emphasis added]

I would think most people claiming asylum, if its a true claim, would want it to be processed quickly. Get it done and if they fail in their attempt to claim asylum, then put them on a passenger plane immediately and fly them back home. [Emphasis added]

Kobach said the plan would not only end Catch and Release, but also act as a deterrent for future border crossers and illegal aliens. contyinue reading HERE.

Koch Brothers Look to Ram Through DACA Amnesty Before New Year

by John Binder:

The pro-mass immigration GOP megadonor billionaire Koch brothers will “work aggressively” before the year’s end to obtain amnesty for the 3.5 million illegal aliens who are enrolled and eligible for President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The Koch brothers’ network of organizations — which campaigned for Democrats’ open borders policies in the midterm elections — are seeking to ram through their agenda of amnesty, prison release, and more free trade during the lame duck session of Congress before House Democrats are handed the majority in the new year. The year-end agenda is being launched with a multi-million dollar campaign.

A spokesman for the Koch brothers told NBC News:

“We will work aggressively to bring together a divided government to address these critical issues,” said James Davis, a Koch Network spokesman. “It’s a bold, positive vision for what we must do to help people improve their lives.” [Emphasis added] …

“We see an opportunity to engage the American people to address some of the toughest problems facing our country: a broken criminal justice system, an immigration system that prevents good people from contributing, eliminating cronyism and promoting open trade,” Davis said. [Emphasis added]

The Koch brothers’ agenda includes securing amnesty for all DACA-enrolled and eligible illegal aliens — a population of about 3.5 million — while also lobbying Congress to pass legislation that would immediately release 4,000 convicts from federal prison. Media Fail: Trump’s Approval Rating Improved During Manufactured Border Outrage

Michelle Moons

By John Nolte

President Trump’s job approval rating improved by five points during the establishment media’s manufactured outrage over Trump continuing the Obama administration’s policy of separating illegal alien adults from children at the border.

According to the Real Clear Politics poll of polls, on June 8, Trump’s approval rating rounded out to an average of 42 percent, while his disapproval rating averaged 54 percent — a 12 point gap.

As of Monday July 2, after two weeks of being pounded by the entire media over border enforcement, Trump’s approval rating has climbed to 44 percent, and his disapproval rating has dropped to 51 percent — a seven point gap.

That is a five point improvement during the very “scandal” the media predicted would be remembered as “Trump’s Katrina,” meaning the issue that drove public approval of the president into the dirt forever.

Part of that improvement is due to ten point surge in support from — wait for it, wait for it — Hispanic Americans.

Imagine being the establishment media today, imagine knowing you threw everything you had at the president; that you coordinated a perfect narrative-storm using recordings of crying children and hoax photographs; that you poured all your hopes, your dreams, and resources into manufacturing that one bulletproof story that would finally bring this guy down.

And what happened in the end…? Continue reading at breitbart.com.

Report: Paul Ryan Planning to Slip Amnesty for DACA Illegal Aliens into Spending Deal

Ted Yoho: “He Better Not.”

By John Binder

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) is planning to slip amnesty for nearly 800,000 illegal aliens living in the United States into a spending bill, according to House Republicans.

Ryan, during a talk before the Republican Study Committee (RSC), reportedly said an amnesty for illegal aliens shielded from deportation by the Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) would be included in an end-of-the-year spending deal.

“He did talk about the fact that that would be good if we could get ahead of that as opposed to being reactionary,” RSC Chairman Mark Walker (R-NC) told the Huffington Post following the meeting with Ryan.

Another two House Republicans confirmed to the Huffington Post that Ryan mentioned slipping DACA amnesty into the spending deal at the gathering.

While Walker said Ryan “did talk about border security,” it was not in the context of making sure a border wall — which President Trump has promised to construct along the U.S.-Mexico border — would be part of any spending bill.

“I don’t think that anybody has said definitively that the wall has to be part of that,” Walker said.

Immediately, Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL) and Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) slammed Ryan’s alleged comments to the Huffington Post about giving DACA illegal aliens amnesty in the spending bill.

“He better not,” Yoho said [Bold type – mine].

Labrador mocked Ryan’s DACA move, saying “That’s true leadership, I guess” and called the initiative a “big problem.” Read the rest of this article at breitbart.com.

Trump’s Pick to Run DHS Allied with ‘Never Trump’ National Security Establishment

It was supposed to be DRAIN the Swamp, not HIRE It.

By John Binder

President Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) not only previously worked alongside national security establishment figures who aligned themselves with the failed “Never Trump” movement, – she has also been endorsed by members of the defunct group.

Kirstjen Nielsen, a former official under President George W. Bush, was chosen by Trump to replace Acting DHS Secretary Elaine Duke, who has been influential in moving forward on an initiative to construct a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Allied with Nielsen are members of the failed Never Trump effort, many of whom penned open letters during the 2016 presidential election claiming Trump was “unfit” to serve as Commander in Chief.

TOM MIHALEK/AFP/Getty Images

For instance, former Bush official Tom Ridge has praised Nielsen, calling her a “homeland security veteran” to the Washington Post and heaping more praise on her in the New York Times, where he called her “a patriot.”

Ridge, though, was one of 95 Republican establishment former national security officials who signed a letter opposing Trump in 2016 for his “America First” agenda.

Before signing the Never Trump letter, Ridge took it upon himself to publicly label Trump an “embarrassment” to the United States, opposing his then-proposed travel ban from foreign nations that have a history of exporting Islamic terrorists.

Following Trump’s historic victory, Ridge — a longtime amnesty advocate who has aligned himself with the pro-cheap labor wing of the Republican Party — continued to oppose Trump’s promises to secure the southern border. Read the rest of this article at breitbart.com.

TUESDAY 3/22 @ 6:30 pm NEXT MEETING of the GTP!!!

SteveBR

The next meeting of the Gainesville Tea Party will be on TUESDAY, March 22 at 6:30 pm – 8 pm at Countryside Baptist Church (just west of I-75 on the North side of the road), 10926 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL (just west of I-75 on the North side of the road)

Our guest speaker is Dr. Stephen Steinlight, Senior Policy Analyst at the Center for Immigration Studies.

Dr. Steinlight is an expert on what many of us believe to be the greatest issue facing our nation, our party and our future!

Please join us as he discusses as many of these these bullet points as possible:

  • Why is massive immigration, legal and illegal, the most important issue facing America
  • How and why did mass immigration change from a great engine of US prosperity to a counterproductive anachronism?
  • Why do the political establishments in both the Democratic and Republican parties support massive immigration?
  • In purely fiscal terms, does immigrant labor represent a net gain or loss to the economy?
  • What impact does “cheap” immigrant labor have on the most vulnerable Americans?
  • In what amounts to a plot against America, the Obama Administration effectively nullified immigration law on the border and internally.  How did it accomplish this?
  •  The US-Mexican border needs to be sealed to stop illegal aliens from entering to take jobs from Americans and gain public benefits.  But even more importantly, a porous border represents a serious threat to national security.  Just how real is the danger?
  • Over two terms Obama has shredded the separation of powers, staged a successful coup against Congress and has made law by edict.  In what ways and how did he succeed in violating the Constitution?
  • The GOP won a massive victory in the mid-term election in 2014 campaigning against Obama’s immigration policy, turning Congress and state legislatures the most Republican in a century.  But the election had no outcomes in terms of policy.  Why did the GOP drop the issue like “a hot rock?”
  • What are the principal dangers with ANY version of “comprehensive immigration reform?”  Why is it fair to call immigration legislation like S.1629 and the “Gang of Eight’s” S.744 exercises in mendacity?
  • Donald Trump calls for the mass deportation of the conservatively-estimated 11 million illegal aliens currently in the US.  A better solution may be a concept called “attrition through enforcement.”  What does that entail?
  • Which candidate or candidates for the GOP presidential nomination has or have the best immigration platforms?
  •  Which political tradition has the greater chance of winning the White House for the GOP: Cruz’s conservatism or Trump’s populism?
  • In an era when the political, cultural and fiscal elite have embraced multiculturalism, why does massive immigration pose a special danger?
  • The future of immigration policy hinges on the election, but not solely.  Central issues related to immigration and the political impact of illegal immigration on the  democracy in America will be decided by the United States Supreme Court in Texas vs. the United States (the suit brought by 26 states against the DAPA amnesty and the expansion of DACA) and Evenwel v. Abbott  that will determine whether the appropriate metric for political apportionment should be mere population or eligible voters.  These cases will have significant immediate impact as well as long-term consequences.

Dr. Steinlight will be our only guest and he will leave 15 minutes for Q & A. However, he has committed to stay until the last question has been answered!! If there was ever a time to be at a meeting, this one is it!! We hope you will INVITE other concerned citizens and bring them with you for this most important topic and opportunity to learn from the inside rather than from the state run media!
Please bring a friend, neighbor or family member!!!

Sincerely,

Sherrie McKnight
