Mark Levin chats with Sean Hannity about the timidity of the establishment Republican Party and their refusal to stand against the Democrats. Levin adds that the only true conservative presidents in the last 100 years were Calvin Coolidge and Ronald Reagan and that the other Republican “leaders” have merely built on top of what the Left has created. He then went on to talk about the establishment’s love for Common Core and open borders. Leven went on to say that “…We need principled Conservatives and that people under 50 in this country have never had an opportunity to actually vote for a Conservative president…” And that he thinks “…it’s up to us and millions of others in our generation to give them the opportunity. And that’s exciting and invigorating to support somebody not because you want to stop the democrats, but because you really believe in what they are saying…” He then went on to say “…that a Conservative candidate will in fact reignite the excitement of the Reagan Democrats and others.”
They went on to talk about how both the left and right have attacked Conservatives at every turn. Levin talked about the Bush operatives, both Jeb and George, and the Karl Rove operatives using super PACS to trash the new Conservatives who are trying to break through. He said that “…We Conservatives, we Constitutionalists, will never have an opportunity to beat the Democrats unless we bust through, muscle through the Republican Establishment that despises us. People need to remember, particularly young people out there: They tried to stop Reagan; the Bush family tried to stop Reagan; the Republican Establishment tried to stop Reagan. There would have been no Reagan had they succeeded. And we talk about the next Reagan. Look, it doesn’t matter if we have the next Reagan, we need the next fresh faced Conservative, who will connect with the American people, but we’re not going to have that chance as long as we keep getting these long in the tooth, dug in Republicans, these corporatists who are perfectly happy with big government as long as they’re running it.”
In the final portion of the segment Levin and Hannity discussed President Obama’s mishandling of the negotiations with Iran and how he is succeeding in taking this country down. Levin said that it is up to “…People like us, and the Republican Party and Conservatives to try and stop him and then when he’s out of office to try and rebuild what’s left of our Republic.”
Mark Levin is a Constitutional scholar, a former official in the Reagan Justice Department and a radio talk show host.
