Joe Biden 1974: ‘Politicians Can Take Away’ First Amendment ‘If We Want’

Is there an old saying that goes something like: “Once a creep, always a creep?” Well if not, there ought to be.

Former Vice President Joe Biden told a journalist in 1974 that “cruddy politicians” like himself could “take away” the First Amendment if they wanted.

The current 2020 Democrat frontrunner made the comments to Washingtonian magazine while being interviewed for a profile published in June 1974. Biden, then only 31-years-old, came to regret the interview, as his penchant for gaffes and insensitive remarks—traits defining later portions of his career—heavily colored the piece. At the time, however, Biden appeared eager to discuss his life as the nation’s youngest senator.

“I am proud to be a politician,” Biden told then-Washingtonian writer Kitty Kelley, who authored the profile. “There is no other walk of life which can do more good for mankind than politics. It influences everything that happens to the American people.”

Biden proceeded, according to Kelley, to lean “over his desk to shake his finger at me” while explaining elected officials like himself had the power to “take away” constitutionally protected rights if they saw fit.

“And, whether you like it or not, young lady,” he said. “Us cruddy politicians can take away that First Amendment of yours if we want to.”

Biden’s remarks to Washingtonian mirror those he made in an address to the City Club of Cleveland, Ohio in May 1973. Although that speech initially drew notice for comments Biden made likely to be offensive to women and his use of racially insensitive language —notably when he lectured about what “was good for the Negro,”– it also provided insight into his views on power and politics.

“We spend a lot of time talking about the United States being a melting pot, well that’s true, but quite frankly I think it’s overrated,” Biden told the City Club. “We’ve been able to move forward because of politics. In my opinion, politics need not necessarily be a dirty word.”

Biden expressed that despite the conventional feeling politics was “dirty,” politicians like him do more good for society than doctors or lawyers or “Indian chiefs.”

“Politics should be the most honorable of professions,” he said. “Those of you who are doctors and lawyers and Indian chiefs in the audience, how can any of you possibly do as much good, if you are very good at what you do, as I can do if I am very good at what I can do?”

‘You can’t,” Biden added. “So the point is, this is where the action is.”

At other points in the speech, Biden declared that politicians were just “as moral,” if not more so, than doctors. He also admitted to taking “great offense” at what he saw as the public’s “perilous” attempt to label anyone in elective office a “thief” or a “crook.” Read the rest HERE.

Report: Alyssa Milano Instrumental in Biden’s Flip-Flop on Hyde Amendment

Twitter: alyssa_milano

Sleepy Joe Biden. He’s such a strong-willed guy.

Could Alyssa be one of Sleepy Joe’s top advisors should he somehow get elected? Would he nominate her for Secretary of State; Secretary of Health & Human Services (HHS); Secretary of Housing & Urban Development (HUD); Secretary of the Interior? How about Secretary of Labor? Definitely not!

Far-left Hollywood actress Alyssa Milano reportedly helped persuade former vice president and 2020 White House front runner Joe Biden to flip-flop on his past support for the Hyde Amendment.

The Atlantic reported Friday that people inside and out of the Biden campaign challenged the White House hopeful over his views, prompting him to swiftly cave on his stance’s held for decades.

Symone Sanders, one of Biden’s senior advisers, confronted him, she confirmed to me Thursday night, telling Biden that he was missing how his position disproportionately affected poorer women and women of color without easy access to abortion. Alyssa Milano, the actress who’s become a major online presence on issues of women’s rights as well as a friend of the Biden team, spoke by phone Wednesday to Biden campaign manager Greg Schultz, telling him the candidate needed to change. More calls came in, more tough conversations.

Milano ignited social media with a tweet last month calling for women to join her in a sex strike to protest strict abortion bans passed by Republican-controlled legislatures. Read the rest HERE.

Carlson: VA Dems Not Calling for Northam Resignation Want Blackface, Klan Robes ‘Safe, Legal and Rare’

On Friday’s edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Tucker reacts to the trends toward infanticide in the recent Orwellian abortion laws and proposed/passed by Progressives Democrats, especially by Virginia governor, Ralph Norton. Pay particular attention to the sarcasm he uses. The full transcript is below the video.

As you saw on tape, Northam came out in favor of infanticide this week. Not exaggerating. Northam said it slowly and clearly. You just saw it. Then he reiterated his views, just in case he wasn’t clear the first time. In a statement today, Northam explained that abortion at any stage is a positive good, and this is worth listening to this carefully, because, quote: “Reproductive freedom leads to economic freedom.”

In other words, abortion is virtuous, because it makes women efficient employees, better and more dutiful servants of Northam’s donors. They can work longer hours without worrying about anybody but their bosses. Northam is in favor of that, so are the democrats that are serving their own masters in the private equity class.

Well the press covered this of course, but not in the way you’ve imagined. So to the reporters of the Washington Post, the real crime here, was Republicans complaining about Ralph Northam. Quote: “Abortion bill draws GOP outrage against Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, Democratic legislators.” That’s a headline. Republicans whine too much, infanticide, not a big deal.

And then all of that changed you heard on today, the first day of Black History Month, a site called Big League Politics uncovered the photo Trace just told us about. What is so interesting about it, is that Ralph Northam spent a lot of his last campaign calling his opponent racist, again and again and again. The closing of that campaign was non-ending flurries of ads putting up the Republican opponent up against pictures of what happened at Charlottesville, the atrocities of Charlottesville.

There is no evidence his opponent was racist, but Northam said it a lot. And yet strikingly, Northam’s opponent never took pictures of himself in blackface or in a Klan robe. So there is some irony in this story. As of right now, a number of prominent Democrats, Kamala Harris among them, have called for Northam’s resignation over this. But there are many in his party, particularly in Virginia, who are standing by him.

Those Democrats personally oppose blackface and Klan robes, as a matter of conscience, but they don’t want them relegated to some black alley. They want blackface and Klan robes to be safe, legal and rare, a private matter between a politician and his donors. For now, Governor Northam will be kept comfortable, you can be certain of that. He will be resuscitated if that is what his party desires.

Dem VoterThis was first piblished on ConservativeTribune – James Anderson, a native of Talladega, Alabama, wrote a letter to the editor several years ago that went viral almost instantly. And while it’s been around for a while, it’s begun going viral again, perhaps as the 2016 presidential election starts to heat up.

Anderson gave 12 reasons why he voted Democrat, apparently in reference to the 2012 election. Here they are:

  1. I voted Democratic because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I now may marry my Labrador.
  2. I voted Democratic because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4 percent on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15 percent isn’t.
  3. I voted Democratic because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
  4. I voted Democratic because freedom of speech is fine as long as I agree with what is said and nobody else is offended by it.
  5. I voted Democratic because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
  6. I voted Democratic because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in 10 years if I don’t start driving a Prius.
  7. I voted Democratic because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
  8. I voted Democratic because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education and Social Security benefits, and we should take away the Social Security from those who paid into it.
  9. I voted Democratic because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.
  10. I voted Democratic because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
  11. I voted Democratic because I think that it’s better to pay billions for their oil to people who hate us but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, spotted owl, gopher or fish.
  12. I voted Democratic because my head is so firmly misplaced toward the south end of my body, it’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.

Texas Grand Jury Indicts Makers of Planned Parenthood Baby Parts Videos, Lets Butchers Slide

The Scales of Justice Are Broken

By Austin Ruse  *  January 25, 2016  (See video below)

Pro-life activist David Daleiden had hoped a Grand Jury in Texas would indict Planned Parenthood executives for dealing in aborted baby parts. Instead he and a colleague have been indicted by a Grand Jury in Houston for actions they took in exposing the Planned Parenthood baby-parts business.

Nucatola

Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson investigated Planned Parenthood and gave them a clean bill of health. They then indicted Daleiden, in a complete surprise to Daleiden supporters.

This turn of affairs happened today in Harris County Texas where Daleiden, founder and president of the Center for Medical Progress, and his colleague Sandra Merritt were indicted for felony tampering with a government record. The specifics of that charge and official record were not revealed. He was also indicted for a misdemeanor charge of buying fetal tissue.

A warrant was issued for Daleiden on Monday evening. Continue reading at breitbart.com.

Trey Gowdy Grills Planned Parenthood’s President Cecile Richards Ferociously!

Published on Sep 29, 2015 by LatestNews:

There are few things more entertaining than watching the brilliant Trey Gowdy use his rhetorical skills to interrogate those on the left and tear them to shreds.

In this video from this afternoon’s congressional testimony on defunding Planned Parenthood, the GOWD gets president Cecile Richards to admit that she has no problem with abortions done to target a specific gender, or a race.

The question comes at the 3 minute mark, and Cecile stumbles over her answer, but responds that Planned Parenthood is totally cool with abortions that might are made on the basis of killing a girl just because it’s a girl, as they do in China, or because the baby is undesirable because of its race. Pretty despicable.

It appears that Ms. Richards has had a busy career. She is the daughter of former Texas governor, the late Ann Richards. She and her husband, Kirk Adams both worked for the AFL-CIO and she was Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) deputy chief of staff. She has also been involved with other progressive groups. It’s safe to say that she has had lots of experience that prepared her for her current position at PPOA. About Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards.
